Mirette is a half-sister to Mclain Ward’s iconic partner Rothcild, arguably one of the most successful competitors on the US circuit in recent years. The Mclain/Rotchild partnership claimed Individual Gold and Team Bronze at the 2015 Pan American Games. The previous year they placed 5th individually at the World Equestrian Games in Caen, France, where Team USA took home Bronze.
Having been ridden in his younger years by Philippe Le Jeune, Nastois Du Bosquetiau (half-brother to Mirette) competed to Grand Prix level with Spain’s Luis Astolfi and subsequently Italy’s Lorenzo De Luca. Danton Du Bosquetiau competed up to 150 with Belgium’s Dominique Joassin.
The pedigree of Mirette is closely line-bred on the Selle Francais sire Elegent De L’Ile.
Mclain Ward Quote(s) on Rothchild:
“I think Rothchild has taught me a lot of lessons,” Ward said. “He’s taught me about meeting a horse in the middle. He’s taught me about believing in a horse and seeing the best in him. I really like this horse, aside from what he does in the ring. If he were a person I’d go have a beer with him.”
